GENERATING CHANGE

2014

Generating Change is an architectural intervention which borrows the material language of the show room, brochure, and devices used for design in urban regeneration. The installation which was presented at Vulpes Vulpes, London, shows photographs of the dirt and remnants left in a building site of a former factory that is now being redeveloped into luxury housing. The images are vacuum formed over 3D terrains printed from a digital map of the area; the ruin in reality is fused with the digital ruin, and refers to the renders of a futuristic space. It refers to a growth fetish, where capitalism is constantly defined and redefined; a hybrid of the ultra-modern and the archaic.
